On May 17, 2015, Deerwalk Foundation volunteers (Raghu Nath Pathak, Amril Silwal, Pratibh Achaya and Sameer Shrestha) moved to Kanakot, Dhading as a continuation of day 12 relief program. The program’s main goal was to distribute cash to the rest of villagers who were not covered during the 12th day. One of the local residents helped the team throughout the visit. It was really heartwarming to see people being so kind-hearted, and hopeful, even in this moment of grief and calamity. Their hospitality was praiseworthy. They welcomed the team for lunch though they were receiving the relief packages from people and organizations. Some of them even refused to take aid from us as they claimed that somebody else might need it more than they do. Finally, the team distributed cash to 26 victims including a family who lost one of the family members.
