On 18th May 2015, Kundan Sumser Rana and Barsha Dahal, volunteers of Deerwalk Foundation, and a team of Dirghajeevi Voluntary Group (DVG), went to Balthali, Kavre to distribute relief materials to the survivors of the mega earthquake. The DVG team consisted of Sandip Gurung, Lumanti Maharjan, Sachin Thapa and a freelancer Mr. Ivan Loncar from Croatia. The journey was smooth, but it was heart-breaking to see the devastated villages. In Balthali, the earthquake victims were very pleased to see the team and appreciated their prompt action to support them. In total, the team distributed one tarpaulin sheet (12’*9’) and two mattresses to each of the sixty needy families. The tarpaulin sheet and mattresses were funded by Mr. Pramod Ranabhat on behalf of the Nepalese Students in Luebeck, Germany. Special thanks goes to the University of Luebeck for supporting the Nepalese students to collect the funds. Pratik Joshi, volunteer of Deerwalk Foundation, played a key role to bridge the students of Luebeck and Deerwalk Foundation. The local people also helped the team to carry the relief materials to the distribution area and were very much thankful to the team. The team effort made the event of distribution successful.
