On 21st July 2015, Deerwalk Foundation reached out to Lower Kanakot, another damaged area of Dhading District. The group of 12 people included volunteers of Deerwalk Foundation and representatives of the entire Deerwalk community, the Chairperson Rudra Pandey; the Campus Chief, Surendra Adhikari; 6 employees from the Deerwalk Services, Kanchan Raj Pandey, Tulsi Ramtel, Sudhan Timsina, Sameep Man Shrestha, Anish Pradhan and Lava Kafle; and 4 students from DWIT, Abhisekh Khatiwada, Prayush Shrestha, Dipesh Bhandari and Bishal Timalsina. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a damage survey of the households of the village.The team had a good interaction with the victims and collected data about the state of houses in the area and also estimated the cost of the buildings. They also visited the public School namely, Dilli Sabitri.

The locals were asked to fill out a questionnaire form, which included basic information about their family and the state of their house. The group reached out to 18 out of 25 houses, among which all were damaged significantly. Although there was no severe damage to life, the families suffered a severe loss in property. Many of the cattle were killed and the houses were damaged. The people are still afraid to stay in their houses. The team found that the level of awareness is pretty high to make the houses safer and strong. The Deerwalk Foundation group collected enough information to get a clear picture of the situation of the village. They also visited a school, the school was also damaged a lot. The education of the students there was also affected; most of the students failed in math and science. The Chairperson Rudra Pandey assured them that Deerwalk Foundation would provide full support to run special classes in those subjects.
