Today, we, the volunteers of Deerwalk Foundation, decided to leave for Sankhu, one of the badly impacted villages after the earthquake. We had been hearing in the news that the place is totally devastated. We wanted to go provide some help but wanted to see / assess as to what kind of relief supply would do.
The historic town of Sankhu, famous for its heritage and culture resembled a place that had been bombed. We walked through the narrow alleys with a constant fear that whatever remained ‘tall’ may fall anytime. We talked to several people and promised them that we will certainly comeback with some help.
