Remote Area Medical (RAM) [https://ramusa.org/] is coordinating with Deerwalk FoundationÂ [http://deerwalk.org/] for the engagement of 18+ medical professionals from the United States in the aftermath of 2015 Nepal Earthquake which has killed 6,500+ people and injured twice as many.
Paul Marseca, accompanied by Grover, arrived in Kathmandu last night and has set up his base in Deerwalk’s office in Kathmandu [http://www.deerwalk.com/Â ]. Today, Paul visited a health camp in Changu Narayan, the office of World Health Organization (WHO) in Pulchowk, and the Ministry of Health & Population in preparation for the arrival of his larger team this coming week.
The team then headed for a meeting at MoH, Ministry of Health called by WHO, World Health Organisation. The meeting was attended by members ( Doctors / Army Personnels / Volunteers ) from at least 25 countries where they were briefed about situation so far, areas that need volunteers and security briefing. The team was assigned to go to the VDCs, Piskar and Dhaskun, of Sindhupalchowk district, Northeast of Kathmandu. The drive would be of around 5-6 hours followed by some walking.
